The creamy, spongy processed pair of cakes that stole the hearts of millions upon the news of their discontinuation is headed back to shelves – and as soon as this summer. Metropolous & Co. and Apollo Global Management joined forces today and put in an offer to purchase the pastry brand from Hostess for a reported $410 million. The CEO of Metropolous & Co. said that he's looking forward to having "America's favorite snacks back on the shelf by this summer."
