Colorado sheriffs are suing the state, trying to get legal weed repealed

Why? Are they bummed they have less meaningless arrests to make?

Six sheriffs from around the state sued the governor last week, claiming Amendment 64 forces them to violate federal laws. Then they whined about how legal weed should be repealed. Then were joined by some people in Nebraska and Kansas, who, if you remember, are trying to sue Colorado over legal weed too (Oklahoma too, those bastards).

Then they were vastly outnumbered by every other Coloradan who's getting a tax refund from surplus recreational marijuana tax revenue. Refund, people.

It's so funny to us how people are trying to repeal legal weed. How do you not have anything better to do as law enforcement officers? People are getting raped and murdered every day. Focus on that, not some petty plant that's killed no one and rakes in millions. Bye.

Even though the suit argues that federal law’s supremacy means Colorado cannot allow people to possess, use, grow or sell marijuana, there are various strong movements in the federal government to decriminalize marijuana on a national level and a definite shifting attitude in favor of decriminalizing the stuff. In fact, there's a bill being brought to the Senate (which means it's already passed in Congress) right now that seeks to reschedule weed from a Schedule 1 to a Schedule 2 substance.

Furthermore, when Nebraska and Oklahoma filed their lawsuit against Colorado last year, then-Colorado Attorney General John Suthers said in a statement that, “it appears the plaintiffs’ primary grievance stems from non-enforcement of federal laws regarding marijuana, as opposed to choices made by the voters of Colorado.” Stop trying to blame your problems on us, Midwestern America. Take responsibility for your own corn-filled states.
