It's really quite simple …

Hey, look, another viral video making the rounds teaching absolutely nothing, with a sole purpose of only finding divisions in opinion to initiate online disagreements. We love these …

Isn't it safe to admit that there is only one kind of driver, though? An asshole.

Because regardless of how anyone drives, everyone else sharing the road is going to think they're a complete fuckwad for anything. Too fast? You're a maniac. Too slow, and you're an idiot — exactly how the great George Carlin once put it. Yet now we have online blogs, think pieces and videos attempting to funnel complex issues into one accepted viewpoint. For nothing other than shareability.

Like the above video tries to do, others have scrambled to find justification in certain behaviors that aren't necessarily the 'right' ones. As it stands, it doesn't really matter what you do on the road, cops will always find a reason to pull you over if they want. Claiming any law is written for the 'safety of the citizens' is (let's admit) complete shit, as they only serve as a gateway to over-policing and fundraising. Vox's video doesn't even mention the fact that passing on the right is, in most states, illegal, too. But that doesn't fit the narrative, so why would they? (The crash it shows at the beginning is of a violent outburst as well, not the product of driving slow in the left lane, as it claims.) Like it all you want, but the video is pretty stupid.

There is no other way to drive other than to be courteous. Move over when you should, don't do things that put others in danger and stay off your fucking phone. It's really quite simple.

As far as the left lane is concerned, if you really subscribe to the idea that its only for passing, you've clearly never been in rush hour traffic before or have any understand of things like basic physics. As for the people who insist on driving in the left lane going the speed limit, you're well aware of the other kinds of people, so why not just get over and let them get the speeding ticket? See, there's two sides here, as there always is with human conflicts.

We miss you George …
