It's happened. EDM has officially taken over the world. Kinda. Billboard heeded calls from the masses and this week, officially debuted it's Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Will.i.am and Britney Spears' "Scream and Shout" sits atop the chart followed by artists Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, Psy, Ne-Yo, Ludacris, Pitbull, David Guetta and Zedd. Skrillex and Krewella are both on the list just not in the top ten.

Billboard compiles their rankings based on:

"The week's most popular current dance/electronic songs, ranked by radio airplay audio impressions as measured by Nielsen BDS… and reports from a national sample of club DJs. Songs are defined as current if they are newly-released titles, or songs receiving widespread airplay and/or sales activity for the first time." – Billboard.com

We're interested to see how underground tracks and remixes play into the charts. As much as we love Gangnam Style, there a plenty of other dance/electronic songs that should be in the number four spot on the charts. It's the first week, we'll cut them some slack.
