Instead of going out with a bad attitude and blowing student loan money on visible tattoos to try and pretend you’re in a worthwhile band, let the resurgence of the Guitar Hero dynasty become that subjective reality instead.

This past April, when Activision Inc. announced it would be bringing the game back to consumers, most lovers of the faux-superstar interactive experience wondered how the company would make it any different. For starters, Activision has said it will launch (scheduled for Oct 20) with two new channels. One, Guitar Hero TV, boasts playable music videos with 75 songs already listed from artists such as Fall Out Boy, Bruno Mars, Pantera, Skrillex and others to be announced up until go-time. The other channel, Guitar Hero Live, allows the player to melt-face in front of “real” audiences with coordinating responses.
