Have an insatiable craving for beer and beer knowledge? It could win you free suds for life!
After it being gone for the past two years, Wynkoop Brewing is bringing back its “Beer Drinker of the Year Competition” — which means all you have to do is talk to your phone like you always do while its recording, upload the video, and then bask in the glory that comes with being an elite human being while drinking all the free beer your evolved liver can handle.
But there’s a catch, you have to enter the best video, that exudes more passion and charisma than all the others. We know you, though, and we all have faith in you. You.
To enter: Wynkoop Brewing is asking entrants to upload a two-minute video describing why they should be dubbed the greatest beer drinker in the world. Videos will be judged based on “entrants’ creativity, expressed knowledge of craft beer history, and demonstration of how they live and breathe beer culture,” says a recent press release.
Applicants are also encouraged to share their videos online with social the tag #BDOY2016. Video votes from the site will also count towards overall judging, so the more of your armchair warrior friends that go and vote the better.
“We are thrilled to bring back our beloved Beer Drinker of the Year competition in its new form this year,” says Breckenridge-Wynkoop Vice President of Marketing Brooke Salazar. “The contest is intended to give the nation’s biggest beer enthusiasts a platform to showcase their knowledge and passion for beer. By incorporating a social aspect to the competition through video submissions and public voting, we hope our participants will get creative, have fun and tell all of their friends why they should be the 2016 Beer Drinker of the Year!”
Be quick about it too, because the longer your video is up on the Internet, the better, but also because you only have until midnight on December 31, 2015 to submit — and we all now how life takes its toll around the holidays.
Here’s how the rest of your year should go: Video entry, priority #1. Loved ones, priority #2. It’s that easy.
And remember to share with the media outlet who believed in you most. Hint: It’s us.
