It's good to use the space for something, we suppose …

Instead of turning the team around to be contenders for even simple mediocrity in the MLB, The Colorado Rockies have opted to announce other opportunities to bring fans into the Coors Field doors. Today the camp released The Rooftop Live! lineup for a pre-game concert series.

Admission for The Rooftop Live! event is free (alongside the price of park admission), with sets varying contingent on the correlating game. The performances will be timed to end roughly half-an-hour or so before the first pitch and located in the newly built “The Rooftop” — a $10 million lounge meant to bring in people who would rather be at an overpriced bar than watching another loss to whatever visiting club.

The lineup itself is something to get excited about, however, because it showcases some of the finest talent Colorado has to offer and meanders around genres like a hacked Spotify account. Each act is well worth the price of a ticket on its own. Silver lining, we giveth.

Coors Field also hosts the Zac Brown Band on July 3 — a musical first for Coors Field.

Maybe next year they just cut the embarrassment entirely and renovate the venue with its new name creatively reimagined as Coors Field Amphitheatre? Sign us up!
