Brilliant, even if it does come with an inevitable lawsuit …

The band hasn’t even played one show together, and already its garnering more attention than a dead lion’s dentist.

It’s Okilly Dokilly, a metal-injected rock band out of Arizona, and all it took to get the web talking was an ubiquitous reference to pop media and some silly outfits. It’s brilliant, really. Even if it does come with an inevitable lawsuit from the lovable Simpsons crew. But would Ned Flanders really go out of his way to subpeona for brand retribution, or would he just call it “fine-diddly-ine” and let the lord lead him to a path of forgiveness?

In keeping with the theme, all band members are named some sort of Ned. In an interview with Australian blog Rip It Up, “Head Ned” says the band isn’t as “fast as Bartcore, and a little cleaner than Krusty Punk. Nedal is a happy medium in the Simpscene.”

In an age where bands and artists are making up shit to seem relevant all the time, we could probably take the band’s deliveries at face-value and claim they’re on to something, but even in Ned Head’s own words, it’s just a gimmick — and one that’s probably going to work.

"In reality, this is all just an over-the-top attempt at getting Matt Groening's autograph," Ned Head said in the same interview, "even if it comes on a cease-and-desist letter."

And yes, since you're wondering — it's an extremely slow news day around here. Happy hour cometh soon …
