It must be in the genes: A 21-year-old aspiring rapper claims Jay Z is his father and is suing the hip-hop mogul for a paternity test — one he keeps ducking.
If the Maury Povich show’s producers aren’t all over this story right now, then what the beautiful heck are they doing? This is paternity test TV gold, we tell you!
According to a New Jersey paternity suit: 21-year-old aspiring rapper named Rymir Satterthwaite and his family have been trying to get the chart trampling, 13-time Grammy award winning mogul to take a paternity test for almost 5 years.
New Jersey Superior Court Judge Edward McBride dismissed a previous case relating to the confusion — filed in 2010 — because he claims to have no jurisdiction over the suit where it was filed. An attorney for Jay Z successfully argued then that he lives in Manhattan and not New Jersey, thereby making the suit invalid.
The new suit alleges Hov provided false information to duck the test, as Jigga Man owns property in New Jersey as well and should be considered a resident regardless. The alleged Z-mini-me says his mother hooked up with the superstar in the early ‘90s, well before he was a celebrity and years before Beyoncé took over the throne of the world.
The godmother of Satterhwaite told the Daily News recently the family was uneasy about the suit becoming public, and will talk to the media publicly when they get everything in order.
“Right now I can't talk to you about it,” she said. "We plan to talk to the public soon. All this attention caught us off guard. We didn't expect someone to leak it to the press. We weren't expecting this.”
We’ll have more information as Maury … we mean the press gets its sneaky little hands all over it. Until then, can we get a wha wha? A paternity suit!
