Julian Casablancas has hinted that The Strokes may reunite and release new music in 2015 … if the “vibe” is right … although he didn’t allude to whether the moon had to be in the right waning stage or the raven had to be flying east or west for it to happen.

Julian Casablancas has hinted that The Strokes may reunite and release new music in 2015 … if the “vibe” is right … although he didn’t allude to whether the moon had to be in the right waning stage or the raven had to be flying east or west for it to happen.

When asked what the "vibe" of The Strokes needed to get back together, Casablancas replied: “Something less mystical".

He then added: "I think you have good work chemistry if you are just honest with each other and you just wanna do something good, and you just wanna put in all your magic, and create something cool with other people's magic, with friends. I think 'the vibe' in the recent past was lost, but I think we learned how to work together better.” That’s great, because it’s about fucking time, you petty dramatic fools.

The band sort of casually dissolved after Casablancas expressed his distaste for touring with them, but they still play occasional shows together, ostensibly when they want to get paid. Things are looking up though. They’ve  hung out “non-musically” in an effort to rekindle their friendship and Casablancas said he thinks there’s “still some magic there.”

We just hope that they sync up their vibes to an appreciable degree so we can go back to spending $90 on tickets for their shows.
