Crunk the heavens up with us while listening to his blistering and award winning set.

Last week, 12 DJs from all over the nation descended upon Phoenix, AZ to battle it out in Red Bull’s Thre3style competition to see who would claim top honors. After two-days/nights of intense musicianship, San Francisco native DJ J. Espinoza walked away as this nation’s best.

Along with his coveted win, the turntable master will head to Tokyo in Sept 2015 to compete for the world title.

Crunk the heavens up with us while listening to his blistering and award winning set:

The rules for the competition, as stated by Red Bull Thre3style, are fairly straightforward:

Red Bull Thre3style pits the world's best DJs in a competition that values technical skill as much as the ability to thrill a dancefloor. Competitors are judged on the dual platforms of technical ability and crowd reaction, and are given just 15 minutes each to prove that they're the best in the room. Judges work to a strict criteria that also marks DJs on their originality in song choices, confidence performing and mixing prowess.

Judges in Phoenix included Four Color Zack, Z-Trip and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to continue practicing our binge slouching talent in front of Netflix — in case one day Red Bull holds an ultimate competition of sloth.
