Have you had your LSD today?

What do you usually eat for breakfast? Eggs? Cereal? Lean Cuisine and Hot Pockets ?

Well, according to Dr. James Fadimen, a pioneer in psychedelics research, you should be eating LSD instead. Mmm, nutritious!

Fadimen’s extensive research on LSD therapy has revealed that replacing breakfast with tiny little doses of acid improves job performance, diet and stamina during physical exercise.

This process, known as microdosing, is advocated by many circles including a popular Reddit forum, and Dr. Fadiman’s people. But it’s not exactly the full frontal spiritual-awakening-in-your-Fruit-Loops it seems like it'd be. In fact, most people who micro-dose LSD don’t even feel the effects; they tend to remain sub-perceptual while people go about their business. It’s so noninvasive that now, everyone from harried professionals to extreme athletes to senior citizens is doing it, and they’re claiming serious benefits from it.

“Microdosing turns out to be a totally different world,” said Fadimen. “The rocks don’t glow, even a little bit.

Instead of trips and transcendental astral travels, people who microdose simply report that they just had a really good day.

“What many people are reporting is, at the end of the day, they say, ‘That was a really good day.’ You know, that kind of day when things kind of work. You’re doing a task you normally couldn’t stand for two hours, but you do it for three or four. You eat properly. Maybe you do one more set of reps. Just a good day. That seems to be what we’re discovering,” Fadimen said.

Fadiman penned The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide, which investigates the the practical uses for psychedelics, such as spiritual enlightenment at high doses and increased creativity at smaller ones, whilst also addressing microdosing.

To trip brains (or have a transcendental experience) on LSD, Fadimen recommends a dose of 400 micrograms or more. To “explore your inner self,” take 200 micrograms, and to improve creative problem solving, try 100. Microdosing, however, only necessitates an average dose of  10 to 15 micrograms. Similar microdoses for other psychedelics would include 0.2-0.5 grams of dried mushrooms (about one-fifth the normal dose) or about 50-75 micrograms of mescaline.

No word yet on how microdosing benefits people as a replacement for brunch, but given that brunch is America's national pastime and a safe place to drink mimosas unabashedly, we doubt you'll be seeing any LSD eggs benedict anytime soon.
