With several outstanding misdemeanor warrants, Michael "Champagne" Torino recently created a Facebook challenge that directly involves a police department that wants him in jail.

The Redford Township Police received a post from Torino last week stating, “If you're next post gets a thousand shares I'll turn myself in along with a dozen doughnuts. And that’s a promise And Ill pick up every piece of litter around all your public schools lets see if you can get those shares”

Little did he know, the Internet loves these kinds of things. …

Responding to the post, the Redford PD commented, “…Donuts!!!!! He promised us donuts! You know how much we love Donuts!” Within hours, the challenge was met, with the department's page flooded by thousands of commenters searching for an update.

One of the officers in charge of handling the Facebook site claimed, “It was a challenge and we thought we’d accept his challenge with humor — and we hope he’s a man of his word and will turn himself in.”

The post had almost 4,000 shares by Monday — and the department is still waiting for his voluntary surrender, though it does expect him to come in later this week claiming they've been in contact.

"Mr Torino stated he will be in this coming week to turn himself in," the Facebook post reads. "We will let everyone know when he does."
