Matt "Megatoad" Stonie is the new badass of competitive food eating, and he's only 19 years old.
There is a hero that walks among us. He goes by the name of Matt "Megatoad" Stonie, he's 19 and he's one of the top contenders in Major League Eating (MLE). We're not sure about his nickname Megatoad but when you can demolish and entire pig in five minutes, you can call yourself boo boo kitty fuck for all we care. While most of us were perched on our couches watching Friends reruns and eating Totino's Bagel Bites last weekend, Megatoad took to the eating circuit to show that not only can he demolish an entire pig, but he can do so without having a heart attack.
Mr. Megatoad ate a whopping 182 slices of bacon in five minutes, crushing the competition — the previous worldrecord was 54 slices. For those of you concerned with Megatoad's health, that's an artery blasting 28,000 grams of sodium, much more than the recommended daily amount. But don't worry about him, this is what he lives for.
"The bacon was cooked just the way I like it — a little crispy because I don't like having to chew it," Stonie told HuffPost. "I don't feel that bad. I'm used to 10 or 12 minute contests, where I'm eating 10 or 15 pounds of food. I came into this prepared."
Like any professional athlete, Megaload trains for this type of competition. He knew what he was doing. He knew what it would take.
"I feel the texture, I taste the saltiness, and I focus on getting it all down," he said. "But I love bacon, it goes with everything."
We love bacon just as much as the next person too, but we're big fans of living for awhile. Not Megatoad, he's on a roll setting world records without hesitation, or heart palpiations, either one. Besides setting the world record for eating the most bacon in five minutes, here are a few other records the young trash compactor handled with ease:
