Sinking ship, meet rock bottom. You two will have a long forever together …

At what point does someone allow a drowning ship to sink to the bottom of the abyss without sending out any more lifelines? Is it when it loses its first captain … second? Or when the promises of floating with ease turn out to be manipulative tales awash in false hope?

According to the Wall Street Journal, Jay Z’s Tidal has lost yet another CEO — all within a short period of 3 months.

To be fair, the recently departed Peter Tonstad was just an “interim” CEO — taking the place of Andy Chen after he left in April — so it was unlikely he was going to see a lengthy career at the polarizing streaming company (unless he was doing a bang-up job keeping the water cooler poppin’), but let’s get real: Two CEOs gone in a short amount of time means there’s some shit going down.

What all this means for the company will eventually work itself out in the coming months (or when Apple’s new service swoops in and devours its share) — but we can all be sure the crew likely isn’t going to sit on the boat much longer as the embarrassment continues.

… and the band begins to play …
