Not unlike most talking-head monsters on TV, Gorburger just wants his 15 minutes …

It’s been a great couple of weeks for comedians from this hallowed one-cow-town of ours. First, the three knee-slappers in The Grawlix began filming for their series “Those Who Can’t” in LA (recently picked up by truTV) — and now, Denver-born T.J. Miller may join in the big time with a pilot order from HBO for his Funny or Die series “Gorburger” …

Not unlike most talking-head monsters plaguing television already, Gorburger (played by T.J. Miller) looks to claim his spot in the cultural paradigm. Set as a stranded alien in Japan, the blue monstrosity uses his time here on Earth to interview celebrities, chiming in with various requests to kill people and generally looking to make guests as uncomfortable as possible.

The series has been going strong for a few years already on the Funny or Die platform, but just a few days ago HBO ordered a pilot episode to consider bringing it in full time on the (hopefully soon) independent — or without the need for a cable subscription — network.

The HBO pilot will feature Moby, Ed Helms, and Johnny Knoxville.

Here’s a hilarious full episode of “Gorburger” featuring Tegan and Sara to get an idea what the world is in for …

… and here's T.J. Miller rapping about our favorite city. Turn it up loud for the homies!!
