Better make the most of it, right?

Thanks to the Internet, we can track every aspect of human life. We have more data than we could ever need. And with the dating preferences from tens of millions of users from OKCupid, it's time to dig in and figure out this whole "preferred age of dating" thing once and for all.

And the data has spoken. For women, there's a four-year span early of life during which men (at all ages) find them most attractive. As men grow older, the women they find sexy stay the same age, and that age falls within a four-year-long span of life, no matter what.

Conversely, women tend to find men most attractive when their ages are more closely matched — as women age, they're most attracted to men who are nearest in age to them.

Need some depressing graphs to back it all up? Here ya go.

For dudes, things never really change. "I get older, but they stay the same age." Turns out Matthew McConaughey was actually a prophet.

Ladies are a little more reasonable, when it comes to finding a mate.

This is all part of a larger study from Christian Rudder, author of Dataclysm: Who We Are (When We Think No One's Looking), a book that examines obscure human behaviors. It's chock-full of depressing stats on the human condition.
