The producer-performer trio out of Los Angeles — edIT, Boreta and Ooah — began its illustrious career almost a decade ago, building an electronic classification all its own with unique beats, breaks and bad-assery. The Glitch Mob brings this new style to the Fillmore in Denver April 25 and 26 but before the group steps on stage, it steps into the hot chair with Rooster for a little game we call 20 questions.

1.     Have you ever Googled yourself?

Yes, in fact I just Googled ourselves to figure out where we are and what city we’re going to next. Tour life can be discombobulating. I still don’t know where I am.

2.     What’s the most rewarding part of being a musician?

Being able to inspire people in a positive way and know that the music has impacted people’s lives.

3.     What’s the least fun part about your job?

Dealing with crazy travel while sleep deprived.

4.     Would you rather give up cheese or oral sex?

Cheese. Well … unless it’s melted cheese on nachos. Nachos are pretty dang good. Maybe not oral sex good, but it’s close. And not baseball nachos, I’m talkin’ four-frickin'-meat nachos.

5.     How did you come up with your group name?

It just sounds cool. Go ahead. Say it out loud. Glitch Mob. Mmm. Feels nice on the tongue. Glitchy. Mobby. It’s fun.

6.     If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing?

Ooah = Restaurant owner

Boreta = Working at Ooah’s restaurant

Ed = Professional cyclist

7.     When is the best time to write a song?

Really late at night after everyone goes to bed and stops yappin’, and it’s focus time.

8.     What’s your favorite part about playing Colorado?

Oh just that it’s the best live music place on earth. People come out and support music as a part of their life in a way that doesn’t happen anywhere else. We wouldn’t be here today without Colorado.

9.     After a long night of partying, what are you eating?

We have a lot of really healthy food on our rider like kale chips, almonds, kombucha and hippie shit like that. After shows our tour manager orders pizza for the crew, so we’ll usually steal some of theirs.

10. What do you think about recreational marijuana?

If that’s your thing, more power to you. We actually aren’t weed smokers these days, but we all used to smoke a lot of bongloads, of course a joint or two while we stop over in Amsterdam. It’s a lot less dangerous than alcohol; that’s for sure. And it helps people get creative and enjoy music. Now is a good time to be in the delicious food and/or trippy music business.

11. One thing people would never suspect about you?

EdIT has a particularly high tolerance for caffeine. He’s sober in general, but during rehearsals one night he drank 10 red bulls and a few cups of coffee and is still alive. Rumor has it that Boreta used to be super into the Spice Girls. Ooah’s favorite food in the world is Triscuits with a cheddar slice and jalapeno.

12. Do your parents dig your music?

Yes, well at least that’s what they tell us. I think they’re biased though. They probably wouldn’t be doing whiskey shots at Glitch Mob shows if they didn’t give birth to us. But who knows? Stranger things have happened.

13. What’s the best venue you’ve played and why?

Red Rocks is the best venue in the world. You know why because if you are reading this you probably live in Colorado. It’s orgasmically beautiful and sounds great.

14. Is Los Angeles really full of beautiful people?

Everywhere is full of beautiful people.

15. How lucky are you and why?

We are very lucky because we get to make music, perform music, travel around with our friends. This is fun. We are grateful.

16. What is your least favorite thing about humanity?

War.

17. If you were 80 years old, what would you tell your grandchildren?

It’s the journey not the destination.

18. What advice do you have for aspiring musicians?

Tell your own story. Tell it passionately. Work hard at your craft. Tune out the noise.

19. Overall, how would you sum up the music business in one word?

Clusterfuck.

20. What do you think of the name Rooster for a magazine?

It’s solid. Never pass up the opportunity for a well-placed dick joke.
