If you watched the train-wreck of shit cargo that was the 2020 presidential debate, you, like me, and like most of America are probably still recovering from the hangover. It was a hard thing to watch and a very easy thing to drink to — a dangerous combination, particularly when it concerns the fate of this nation and perhaps the world itself.

There was interruption, question dodging, divisiveness, childishness, name-calling and outright lies — mostly from Donald Trump, who stuck to his schoolyard slams and talked over Joe Biden non-stop, steamrolling Chris Wallace, the debate moderator, over and over, again and again.

Until Chris Wallace could take it no more. He snapped, and between questions, stopped to say what everybody was thinking to a stunned President Trump (video below):

“What you just said was the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. God have mercy of your soul.”

Just kidding. Wallace didn’t actually say that (but goddamn don’t you wish he had?).

Sadly, that is a deepfake video (and a pretty good one at that) by Youtuber, Aeiou (#aeiou_youtube). One that is really satisfying to watch, even knowing it’s total fantasy.

Too often people fearmonger over all the scary sci-fi aspects of deep-fake videos and how they’re going to distort reality and confuse the masses with indiscernibly fake videos of politicians and celebrities. But this is a fantastic use of that technology. Good job Aeiou.
